Endowment of Real Estate

The Waqf Directorate is an institution of the Islamic Community that, in accordance with the normative acts of the Islamic Community, carries out the procedure of new waqf establishment. This procedure goes through several phases:

  • Jamaat Board;
  • Majlis of the Islamic Community;
  • Waqf Directorate;
  • Council of Muftis;

If someone wishes to endow a property, they submit their proposal along with a declaration to the local jamaat, which then forwards the case to the Majlis. The Majlis, along with its opinion, submits the case to the Waqf Directorate.

The Waqf Directorate then carries out the waqf establishment procedure, and once the Council of Muftis grants its approval, the endowment becomes official, and the Waqf Directorate issues a Waqf Deed (Wakfnama) to the waqif.

The Waqf Directorate officially records the waqf in the Book of Waqifs, and with this registration, the waqf establishment procedure is fully completed.
