The purpose of the Waqf Fund for Cultivating Waqf Land is to secure resources for establishing various types of plantations on waqf land, such as agricultural crops, orchards, forest plantations, and other types of essential vegetation.

The Islamic Community owns vast areas of waqf land that have not been utilized for their intended purpose and remain uncultivated. Experience has shown that such waqf parcels are generally suitable for establishing various perennial plantations. Following thorough preparations—including organizing seminars for majlis representatives across all muftiates and conducting feasibility studies—the Waqf Directorate has implemented several pilot projects for cultivating specific crops. Analyses and results have confirmed that these projects are both justified and beneficial. So far, the Waqf Directorate has planted several thousand seedlings and established dozens of new orchards on waqf land within 23 majlises of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

To support orchard cultivation and the planting of various crops, contribute to overall economic development, and prevent further degradation of waqf land, the Waqf Directorate in Sarajevo has established this fund. Through it, individuals can donate funds for endowment, even if it is just for a single fruit tree.

In the future, public kitchens, madrasas, student dormitories, socially vulnerable groups, and other people in need will benefit from the cultivation of waqf land.
